We have 2 little bouncy dogs who have come to stay for the weekend. One is a little beagle mix and the other is a small Old-English Bull Dog. They are both very excited to be here because they are regular guests and love coming here. Sampson is not thrilled, when I get home the little ones start jumping up on me. Sampson has also run over to meet me at the door. With all the excitement, the little ones jump on Sampson by mistake. Grrrrr, Sampson lets them know that it is NOT OK to jump on him.
Once everyone calms down, I spend 15 minutes giving Sampson belly rubs and gentle hip rubs. Now he's happy and takes up a position in his favorite place, Keeway's big dog bed. Sampson has been going on much longer walks with Cheryle every day for a couple of weeks now with her regular groups. His arthritis seems not to be bothering him and his energy level is way, way up.
