Sammi and Sophie are the ultimate "lap dogs" - they love hanging out with me. I got up so hubby could take the picture, but just before this picture they were both curled up on my lap.
Sophie, because she's little, likes to bark at big dogs. Yesterday as we were coming up the path to the parking lot, a big guy with two very big dogs was coming down the path. The first thing I noticed was that one of the dogs had a HUGE pinch collar AND a harness. That's when I scooped up Sophie and banged a sharp right away from this group. Sophie, however, felt the need to bark at this big dog which produced exactly the reaction I knew was coming. He reared up and started growling. His owner also knew it was coming and had complete control. Sophie, is safe and sound in my arms and of course oblivious to the ruckus she caused. I feel sorry for dog owners who have highly aggressive dogs. It's a very difficult behavior to train out and it requires a highly professional dog trainer with a specialization in this sort of behavior.
Anyway, it's great having Sammi and Sophie, they are so cute and love-able. I just adore them.
