Useful Products

As you can imagine, I vacuum, a lot! We have a Kirby, which is an industrial-class machine that can vacuum and do carpet shampooing. When we bought the Kirby, the salesman did a big demo for us and then when my huband Kenny said "OK, how much does it cost?" - and the salesman told him - Kenny turned purple and said "For that amount of money, I want to have sex with it" without missing a beat the salesman said "Well sir, there is an attachment.....anyway that's a different story. The Kirby has been a great investment and Kenny never did order the "special" attachment.

UPDATE! We just bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner. WOW! We'll be using the Kirby for shampooing only from now on.

However, I have some recommendations on some products for vacuuming up pet fur. The first one is Arm&Hammer Pet Fur Release spray. You spray it on the carpet, wait 5 minutes and it helps pull up ground in pet fur. Works like a charm. You can find it at Shaws supermarket. If you have a shampooer, the best carpet shampoo is "Simple Solution" which you can find at Petco.

Lastly, with the summer coming, some dogs have a tendency to get "hot spots" dry, red irritated spots on their skin, usually on their tummies. There is a great all natural product called Veterinarian's Best Hot Spot Itch Relief spray. It's made with extract of green tea, or tea oil and aloe. It's one of those products that can save you a trip to the vet. If you notice your dog licking their underbelly excessively, and you see some red irritated skin, try a couple sprays of this before you go to the vet.

One last very cool product, which most of you won't need, but I have to mention it anyway. We just bought a state-of-the-art air filtration system called a Rabbit. It has four bio-sensors and a microprocessor on it and three or four different filtration systems. The bio-sensors can pick up pollen, pet dander, toxic chemical and something else which I'm not sure about. And it changes filters and circulation speed when it senses something. We bought the first one to test and we may buy two or three more to cover the whole house. Again, most of you don't need this kind of a deal because you only have a couple of pets. It's just so cool, I had to mention it. You can see it at this link - if you suffer from allergies, it might be worth it for you to check it out
