Keeway's Comfy Kennel was fortunate enough to have Gilda, a Senior Lab mix, come and stay with us for a week. As we have a huge soft spot for seasoned citizens, and obviously Labs, we were reluctant to give her back to her humans. (Sorry, I mean our client....I really need to get out more)
Gilda has an amazing sense of balance...she can lie on her back, even if half of her torso is on her bed, and use her paws and front legs to balance her body perfectly. This, of course, produces immediate belly rubs! (And would have made for a very funny picture!)
If for some reason Gilda thinks dinner is late, she will pound her food bowl with her paw until attention to the matter is given...she will also inform us if the water bowl needs filling.
On walks she is an angel. Her recall (as long as it's loud enough) is perfect. We always let her into the car through the front seat so she doesn't have to try to jump. At her age I wouldn't want to jump either.
We are expecting Gilda back in June..sigh....it's not soon enough.
